What is Christ Renews His Parish?

Christ Renews His Parish (CRHP) is a process designed to bring members of a parish together in Christ. All of our commitments, including our commitment to Christ, need continued renewal if we are to be faithful. CRHP is an effective spiritual process, which calls together the members of the parish priests, religious and laity in order to experience personal conversion and Christian community in the environment of our own parish.

Let us be concerned for one another, to help one another to show love and to do good. Let us not give up the habit of meeting together, as some are doing. Instead, let us encourage one another all the more, since you see that the Day of the Lord is coming nearer.

Who Facilitates the Weekend?

The renewal weekend, to which you are invited, is given for PARISHIONERS, by PARISHIONERS. A team that has previously attended a CRHP weekend, with a Spiritual Director, work together in prayer and love to provide you with this two-day, one overnight, live-in experience in our parish facilities.
 

What Happens on a Weekend?

Come prepared to have fun and renew your heart. The process is centered around reflections by team members with emphasis on small group discussions and activities. Topics covered include the Father's loving care for us, Scripture, Eucharist and what Christian life is all about.

You will be free to share as much or as little as you are comfortable with. You and your needs will always be respected. The sharing dialogue is stimulated in a very liturgical, scriptural and prayerful atmosphere.

Sacraments are part of the weekend. Mass is celebrated both Saturday and Sunday in the Church. On Saturday evening, Reconciliation is offered with our parish priest or visiting priests.

We ask God to fill you with the knowledge of His will, with the wisdom and understanding that His Spirit gives. Then you will be able to live as the Lord wants and will always do what pleases Him.

When and Where are the Weekends Held?

The weekends will be held in our parish facilities from Saturday morning until Sunday afternoon. There will be one men's weekend and one womens weekend held each spring and fall.

Sleeping accommodations will be provided and meals will be prepared by parish volunteers. The entire weekend is informal. Casual and comfortable clothing is the uniform of the day. Every effort will be made to accommodate special needs.
 

Who May Attend?

This weekend is open to all parishioners in the St. Michael's parish who are at least nineteen years of age and have not attended a previous weekend.

CRHP is for anyone who seeks spiritual renewal, desires to build up the Body of Christ, or gain a deeper sense of purpose within the parish community. Praying for guidance is important. If you feel that Christ, through the Holy Spirit is calling you COME!

Do not conform yourself to the standards of this world, but let God transform you inwardly by a complete change of your mind. Then you will be able to know the will of God. His good, pleasing and perfect will.

What about the Cost?

There is no cost to the participants. Volunteer help is welcome. Donations are welcomed and accepted and are always private and anonymous.
